HBFAAA Lunch Menu

Huntingdon, Bedford, and Fulton County Senior Center Menus

Huntingdon-Bedford-Fulton Area Agency on Aging — PA

The Huntingdon, Bedford, and Fulton County Senior Centers offer fresh, nutritious congregate meals that are tasty and satisfying Monday through Friday* at noon (unless there is a federal holiday). Join us every day for lunch! It is a great way to socialize with other adults your age and maybe even make a new friend. We regularly offer fun activities, education, and recreational opportunities for you, as well. Just call your local Senior Center at least 24-hours in advance and we will prepare a meal for you. Please note: we have to order meals by 1:00pm the day prior.

The menu changes each month. The menu above is for ALL senior centers in Bedford, Huntingdon, and Fulton County, PA. In addition to daily lunch meals, Senior Centers may also offer special meals as part of various programs and activities held at each location. Meals may be eaten at the center or prepared as take-out. In-person registration is required at your local Senior Center prior to requesting a meal for take-out.  This is not our home-delivered meal program, and meals are not delivered by the center for this particular program. If you would like to learn more about our home-delivered meal program or sign up, please contact us.

*Note: Some senior centers only serve meals on select days.

Diet Information from the World Health Organization

Fight Fatigue, Pain, and Illness With Food

According to the World Health Organization, the #1 cause of disease as we get older is the lack of adequate nutrition. As we age, our bodies become less efficient at extracting vital elements, proteins, vitamins, and minerals from the foods we eat. To make matters worse, many of us end up resorting to fast food/junk food or just skipping meals altogether for various reasons. This practice can rapidly lead to fatigue, increased pain, a weakened immune system, and the development of illness and disease. Some of the conditions and systems affected by a poor diet include:

Malnourishment and Disability

1 in 4 older Americans is malnourished according to the National Resource Center on Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Aging. Being malnourished can weaken the bones and muscles you need to do even the simplest daily activities, and increases your risk for becoming seriously disabled. Fight back! The Huntingdon-Bedford-Fulton Area Agency on Aging is your source for meals that are scientifically designed to address the nutrition requirements of older adults.

Let’s Do Lunch! Leave the Cooking to Us

Many of the people we serve have mentioned how much better they feel after regularly consuming a good balance of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and sugars. Whether or not you are experiencing pain, fatigue, sickness, or disease, we hope you will join us for lunch every day you are able to come in.

Eating alone is no fun.

Enjoying a healthy, well-balanced diet is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health and well-being. It is not only nutritious, our cooks work hard to make sure your lunch is delicious, as well. Leave the cooking to us!
